GYNA Initiatives

Our initiatives connect nature, human health, youth agency, and the potential for rapid, positive change.

Turning Ideas Into Action

Through education, collaboration, and public engagement, Global Youth Nature Alliance helps young people contribute to practical solutions. These five areas guide the work we’re developing.

01 | Healthy Nature. Healthy People.

Nature & Human Health

Human health depends on functioning natural systems.

Forests, oceans and other ecosystems support clean air, fresh water, food, medicines and climate regulation. Access to nature also provides opportunities for recreation, connection and mental well-being.

Protecting these systems is an investment in our health and that of future generations.

GYNA aims to explore and communicate these connections, making research accessible and helping more people understand how protecting and restoring nature supports healthier communities.

02 | From Concern to Agency

Youth Agency & Action

Most young people understand the environmental crisis.

The next question is:

What can I actually do?

Agency means having the ability to influence what happens next. That influence can take many forms:

  • Conducting research that informs environmental decisions.

  • Working to change practices within a school, university or workplace.

  • Influencing policy and participating in public discussions.

  • Creating businesses that help address environmental challenges.

  • Communicating ideas through education, art and storytelling.

  • Organizing communities around a shared goal.

GYNA aims to help young people recognize where their individual and collective influence matters, and connect with people who can support their contributions.

03 | Change Can Accelerate

Positive Tipping Points

Large-scale change does not always happen gradually.

A technology can become more affordable as more people adopt it. A successful policy can spread to other communities. A new practice can become an accepted social norm.

Positive tipping points occur when a change begins reinforcing itself, helping a new technology, policy or practice spread more rapidly.

GYNA is interested in how positive tipping points can advance environmental solutions across several connected areas:

Nature Restoration • Clean Energy • Transportation • Food Systems • Methane Reduction • Waste and Circularity

04 | Different Generations. Shared Future.

Intergenerational Collaboration

Young people don’t need to solve these problems alone.

GYNA seeks to connect youth with scientists, experts, organizations and people across generations. These relationships can combine new ideas with scientific knowledge, practical experience and resources.

Learning travels in both directions. Young people bring perspectives that can shape the work, while experienced leaders can help them understand challenges, develop ideas and build connections. Protecting nature gives that exchange a shared purpose.

Concert for Nature

Protecting Nature to Protect Ourselves

A proposed global cultural event and public-participation campaign for 2027.

The Concert for Nature would use the universal power of music and culture to bring people together around a hopeful proposition:

Humanity already possesses many of the tools needed to protect and restore our planet. The challenge is accelerating their adoption.

The initiative would bring together music, science, youth participation, and public action, highlighting positive tipping points that can accelerate change.

Concert for Nature is a proposal under development. Partners, artists, venues and dates haven’t been confirmed.
